WASTE NOT is also similar to the rather tipsy PERPETUAL MOTION, which requires an 8 x 8 grid, and was included in Maggie Malone's 500 FULLSIZE PATHCHWORK PATTERNS, 1985 (see right). This design tiles beautifully, repeating itself perpetually" as a positive and negative, like an Escher design.
