ANTIQUE GEOMETRIC QUILT DESIGNS
TENNESSEE PINE
| < INDEX | BOOKS | NEXT >
TENNESSEE PINE is illustrated in OPTICAL ILLUSIONS FOR QUILTERS, by Karen Combs (1997). As regards the strong windblown character of the design, she writes: "There are many quilt blocks that show motion by use of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. Some...show motion by a distinct diagonal force." Barbara Brackman's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PIECED QUILT PATTERNS derives the block from Delores A. Hinson's, A QUILTER'S COMPANION, 1973. Compare with ROAD TO TENNESSEE !!
