Quilt Notes: SWALLOWS ON A STAR is also called FLYING SWALLOWS, or CIRCLING SWALLOWS or FALLING STAR, along with several other names. It is illustrated on a full graph in Rhoda Oscher Goldberg's QUILTING AND PATCHWORK DICTIONARY, 1988, but without templates. It was included in Nancy Cabot's column in the Chicago Tribune in February, 1935 as FLYING BARN SWALLOWS, according to Barbara Brackman's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PIECED QUILT PATTERNS.
