LINCOLN'S PLATFORM

ANTIQUE GEOMETRIC QUILT DESIGNS *LINCOLN'S PLATFORM
< INDEX
Quilt Notes: LINCOLN'S PLATFORM, according to Barbara Brackman's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PIECED QUILT PATTERNS, dates back to the 19th century and was included among the pattern templates offered by the LADIES ART COMPANY in 1895. A later version of the same pattern is titled THREE IN A CORNER. Lincoln's actual platform during his 1860 bid, as well as his 1864 re-election for the presidency denounced the disunion of the States, and called for an end to slavery. See Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, for a pdf template. A couple of interesting designs to combine with LINCOLN'S PLATFORM might be UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, and LOG CABIN.
