3/4 quarter circle |
Quilt Notes: DOVE is a classic quarter circle, "drunkard's path" type design, with many variations — this example imagines the bird in flight with outstretched wings. The warm colors reflect its symbolism, often connected with love, and which also transcends quite beautifully the usual "rocky road" interpretations of the block type itself. For more on the history of quarter circle pieced blocks, along with numerous examples, see the popular 65 DRUNKARD'S PATH QUILT DESIGNS (with an easy no-pins technique) by Pepper Cory, Dover, 1991.
