Quilt Notes: CENTER DIAMOND is an antique Amish quilt design. Traditionally Amish blocks employ only solid colored fabrics, and usually rely on geometric patterns consisting primarily of squares or diamonds, and rectangles, with the occasional exceptions. Similar to Japanese haiku poetry, the Amish philosophy which informs Amish quilts depends on simplicity and economy of means in order to evoke profound spiritual content.
