Quilt Notes: This equisite variation on the ATTIC WINDOW design (illustrated in Maggie Malone's 1001 PATCHWORK DESIGNS) first appeared in THE AMERICAN NEEDLEWOMAN, April 1926, according to Barbara Brackman's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PIECED QUILT PATTERNS. In 1924 (see below) the magazine sold for 10 cents a copy. ATTIC WINDOW, though colored differently, uses the same basic piecing template as CONTRARY WIFE.
